Counseling is a form for talk therapy, that provides a non – judgemental and empathetic space for individuals to understand their emotions, explore the vulnerabilities, gain clarity, work towards set goals and the mental and emotional health concerns. Counseling is provided by trained professionals, is a confidential process, and involves sharing of a therapeutic relationship. Although psychotherapy includes the exploration of past contributing factors to the present problems, it is sometimes a long – term process to gain insights into chronic physical and emotional concerns. It also involves the use of several types of psychological therapies and approaches.

There is no major preparation is needed while opting for counseling, however, being open to experience, believing in the process, and not let uncomfortable feelings that often arise in the counseling process stop you. The core reason is, in the counseling sessions you have given an opportunity to face your fears, vulnerabilities, challenging thought process, getting out of comfort zone and be in the better-changed version of you under the guidance and support of the therapist in the safe space.

Opting for counseling is not a sign of weakness, but is a process to realization and enhancement of the ability to deal with any situation.
